A Young Persons Railcard (available for 16-25 year olds, and older full-time students) may be purchased for the year, allowing a third off the usual price. 

A Senior Persons Railcard offers discounts to people aged 60 and over.

There is also a Family Railcard, which offers discounts on most standard fares, provided that the holder is accompanied by a child, who travels for a very low flat fee. 

The Disabled Persons Railcard gets discounts for a companion as well. 

Overseas visitors travelling with individual companies will find full details of condition of carriage available on a leaflet from staffed stations. 

Most stations are non-smoking, but some inter city trains have smoking sections.
