National buses

Travelling long distance by coach is cheaper than rail but invariably takes longer.  National Express is the only comprehensive nationwide coach service in the UK.  In Manchester city centre, it operates out of the Chorlton Street Bus Station.  You can buy tickets in person at Chorlton Street Bus Station and the Manchester Visitor Information Service or at designated travel agents.

There is a 10% discount for seven days advanced booking.  A discount card is available for students of any age and for young people aged 18-25.  There is also an Advantage 50 discount card for people over the age of 50.

For credit card bookings and timetable enquiries: 08705 808080.
