A complete history of the Manchester regiment from the Napoleonic Wars to their amalgamation in 1958. During the First World War the Manchesters suffered some of the worst losses of any British regiment. Amongst the casualties was poet Wilfred Owen, killed shortly before the Armistice. He is remembered, along with his comrades, in the Regimental Chapel in Manchester Cathedral.
