Housed in a former mill in the town centre, this museum traces the history of hat making from a cottage industry using beaver and otter fur to today's fashion designs.  There are permanent and temporary exhibitions and a family space with seating, mirrors and a range of headgear to try on.  The mill also holds a large collection of hatmaking machinery in full working order.
