Hit the North - days out from Manchester

A glance at a UK map shows Manchester is smack bang in the centre of the island with an excellent communication network.  The motorway system serves Manchester particularly well, with the main east-west artery, the M62, connecting Manchester to Liverpool and the cities of Yorkshire whilst the M6 links the city to north and south.  The rail system also connects Manchester with the rest of the country, whilst you can fly from the Airport to virtually any other airport in the British Isles.
