Ferguson stays positive

UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson is confident his Reds side can close the gap on leaders Chelsea and Liverpool despite missing the chance to gain ground on them after a goalless draw at Villa Park.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool drew earlier on but Ferguson told Setanta Sports: “We are capable of going on runs as everyone knows. If we got to within two points or three points by New Year’s Day it would give us a great chance.”
